Edinboro Police Department Edinboro Police Department has transitioned dispatch services from Emergycare to the County Dispatch Center effective September 23, 2009. We expect the transition to be uneventful and mostly transparent for Borough residents and businesses. Borough residents and others who need a police officer in Edinboro for emergencies should still dial 911 or 734-1712. Both numbers will reach the Erie County Dispatching Center. The County Dispatch Center will also help the Borough residents handle non-police after-hour emergencies, such as water line breaks. They will help by notifying the appropriate Borough officials. Use the 734-1712 number for these types of after hour problems. The County Dispatch Center service is funded by the County. This transition from Emergycare Dispatching to Erie County Dispatching will save the Borough tax payers about $20,000 annually in dispatching fees. All Erie County 911 calls go through the Erie County Dispatch Center. For the time being, Erie County Dispatch Center will forward emergency calls for the Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department (EVFD) to West County Dispatch Center, who will dispatch the EVFD. The EVFD is expected to transition their dispatch service from West County Dispatching to the Erie County Dispatch Center by the end of 2009. WHEN YOU DIAL 9-1-1
